The DivX codec is based on the MPEG-4 ASP profile which is part of the MPEG-4 Part 2 (ISO/IEC 14496-2) standard. MainConcept DivX offers several presets ranging from videos for mobile devices up to high-definition video in 720p and 1080p to encode your video footage into DivX compliant streams. The DivX format offers significantly better quality than VCD, SVCD and DVD when using low bitrates. MainConcept DivX comes with the MP3 Audio Encoder that can exclusively be used in combination with the DivX video encoder. This enables users to create files that can be decoded by almost every third party software media player supporting the DivX format. Additionally, these clips are compliant with numerous DivX Certified devices, such as DVD players and mobile phones. MainConcept DivX can only be used when MainConcept Reference is installed (not included).
